Post Script on Gestational Surrogacy
A reader offer a link to an article on the subject: Motherloading: Inside the Surrogacy Boom. I found it interesting in part for the comments. From the first one:
What about the babies and their trauma of being taken away from their birth mother? Adoption trauma is well known, it applies the same to the surrogate babies.
It doesn’t seem to occur to her that adoption after fifteen minutes with the birth mother is rather different from adoption after ten years. People responding to that comment talk about adopted children wanting to find their real parents, but in the ordinary case of surrogacy the child ends up being reared by his biological parents.
