There was no new information revealed in that debate about his mental health that wouldn’t have been obvious to anyone paying attention to his gradual decline, especially for the past 12-24 months, so I thought this debate wasn’t going to change anything.
But, knowing that everyone else knew and had seen the same thing made it very hard for Democrats to maintain the ex-ante “social truth” equilibrium. I wasn’t within that equilibrium, so I didn’t realize this was the game everyone was playing.
